Pet top tips:

Here are a few pet tips I came up with, do you have something to share as well? No matter how bizare, no matter what pet, email your suggestions to me on lisa@blossoms-pet-care.co.uk, I can then post them on here for everyone to see. They can be anonymous or with your name and where you live.

Get thinking!

Puppies:

To prevent your puppy chewing everything it sees keep a bag of good sized raw carrots in your fridge, they can chew as much as they like, the coolness will soothe teething pains aswell. It may make a mess but could ultimately save your furniture etc.

Dogs:

Great treat for your dog, this works better with a Kong, however try something different if you dont have one, be creative. Plug the small hole of a Kong with something like cream cheese, soft cheese, peanut butter etc, place the Kong in a plastic cup or carton.Fill the Kong with a stock mixture, can be any flavour. Once cool, freeze keeping upright of course. When frozen watch your dog devour it will delight, ideally eaten outside as it can get messy as it thaws.

Ever made doggy ice-cream? Try this......Mash a banana with low fat or fat free yoghurt and add runny honey to taste, then freeze. Put a scoop in your dogs bowl as a treat, or you could spoon the mixture before freezing into the Kong (or similar toy) and then freeze.

Another good idea, make some ice cubes using a stock cube mixed with water and then freeze. These can be given as they are as a crunchy suprise.

Chickens:

Feed your chickens corn either mixed in with Layers pellets or scattered on the floor, this will make the yoke richer and brighter in colour.

Small Animals:

Anything potato, even peelings are poisonous to Guinea Pigs. Raw sweet potato is poisonous to rats. - Claire in Longlevens
